Google announces Gemini universal agent for work: one prompt box for all tasks
AI_Andrew · x · 2026-10-09
At Google Cloud's Gemini at Work event, Google announced Gemini, a single universal agent for work with all your business context, usable for knowledge work, Q&A, content creation and coding from a single prompt box. Core architectural principles:
- Unified agent: answers questions, does knowledge work and generates code from one prompt box;
- Access: web-based, accessible from any device, integrable into third-party apps, and able to run without a dedicated UI;
- Persistent execution: runs in the cloud, maintaining a single set of memories, context and one personalization graph wherever you access it;
- Multi-agent orchestration: can spawn sub-agents for multi-step tasks and act as a coworker agent.
