Per the Financial Times, OpenAI's annualized revenue was approaching $50 billion at the end of September — well below the previously floated $70 billion. A person familiar says the discrepancy arose when OpenAI's own investors tried to build a direct comparison with Anthropic's annualized revenues, a comparison that currently doesn't flatter OpenAI.
