Graded thesis-defense reviews proposed as release gate for AI code
ronbodkin · x · 2026-10-09
Segments 5-6 of ronbodkin's thread on reviewing AI-generated code contributions:
- Responsible teams explain what the contribution does, how it works, and dependencies (not model internals) in a blameless thesis-defense-style meeting, with understanding graded.
- Failing grades pause dependent releases (including internal use) until understanding is rebuilt; repeated failures suspend the unit's release authorization, providing a clear gate without arbitrary automation thresholds.
