Apple Watch Readiness Score Got It Wrong, So This Engineer Built His Own App
TejasKumar_ · x · 2026-10-09
IBM AI engineer Tejas Kumar found Apple Watch Ultra 4's new Readiness score wrong in both directions: 8-9/10 "Go For It" on his most run-down mornings (21 consecutive red-morning streak) and a 6 on good ones.
He built Heartwood, using the same signals Apple does — 7-night HRV and resting heart rate averages against his personal baseline — and it correctly recommended rest on every bad morning. He details where Apple's score fails and why the app won't be released.
