The team released the Carbon Annotation Database and its underlying model, Carbon-A, used to discover 566.34 million new gene candidates across 22,617 species — thousands never studied this way before. Several were wet-lab validated in cats, chicken, and arabidopsis with partners Active Site and UCSD, with more extensive results on unstudied genomes coming soon.
