OpenAI published 722 math papers in a day — and over half cite itself, analysis finds

OpenAI released 722 math papers in a single day. Analyzing the citation network, Ben Laufer found OpenAI is a serial self-citer: over half the papers cite another OpenAI-authored work, and he surfaced many citation cycles (A cites B, B cites C, C cites back to A). He stresses this doesn't imply faulty proofs, but raises questions about how citation and publication norms may change as institutions mass-publish. Full write-up with plots and code on his blog.
