With EU AI Act delayed to 2027-28, many US states now regulate AI more strictly than the EU

AI governance researcher Luiza Jarovsky points out an overlooked reversal: because the EU has postponed enforcement of the AI Act's high-risk provisions to 2027 and 2028, many U.S. states are currently regulating AI more strictly than the EU — and almost nobody has noticed.
