Levels.fyi data: ByteDance runs flattest with 28 engineers per engineering manager
FinanceYF5 · x · 2026-10-08
Based on Levels.fyi self-reported data (minimum thresholds: 150+ engineer and 30+ manager submissions per company), an analysis of engineer-to-engineering-manager ratios shows ByteDance clearly ranked first with 28 engineer submissions per manager submission — the flattest among big tech. JPMorgan Chase and Google also ranked high, Google being a surprise. The author cautions this is only a proxy metric for direction, not precise org data.
