Three fired OpenAI employees warn board over declining AI monitorability

Per Zeff Max, three recently fired OpenAI employees sent a letter to board members on Wednesday, urging OpenAI and competitors not to pursue work that would decrease AI monitorability, and claiming the firings are "chilling those who remain at OpenAI". Retweeting, timfduffy noted two of the three were first authors on the CoT monitorability paper, speculating they were fired for leaking that Astra is a looped transformer.
