Cryptographer Matthew Green: LLM math boom could erode confidence in RSA and discrete log security
burny_tech · x · 2026-10-08
Cryptographer Matthew Green warns that the LLM math boom may pose a danger to classical cryptography: enough security could be lost on module LWE, discrete log (and ECDLP), and possibly even RSA that we no longer feel confident in the long-term security of those assumptions — affecting the encryption we actually use, not just theoretical problems.
