PaperFold: open-source reader folds arXiv papers into 5 zoomable detail layers
Lopsided_Scarcity979 · reddit · 2026-10-08
Inspired by Ted Nelson's 1970 stretchtext concept, a Reddit developer open-sourced PaperFold, a reader that renders arXiv papers into 5 zoomable layers — from a one-screen section map down to verbatim text. You pinch or press keys 1-5 to zoom between levels without losing your reading position, aiming to ease the cognitive overload of reading AI agent output.
- Web demo available with 8 CC papers
- Apache 2.0 licensed on GitHub
- Also folds Claude Code output in Mods
