OpenAI cracks k-median open problem that a research group worked on for over a year

Algorithm researcher AlgoSvensson shared that OpenAI completely solved an open problem his students had worked on for over a year, one appearing on a historic list of 400 notable results. He says the team should be proud to have pushed on such a problem and will soon publish their own, different algorithmic approach to k-median.
