Japan's Donut Robotics is testing its Cinnamon 1 humanoid robot in eldercare facilities run by Charm Care, which operates 100+ care facilities in Japan.
- Cinnamon 1 is a full-size bipedal humanoid (170cm) aimed at manufacturing, construction, eldercare, and security. It already talks with residents and joins activities, and is now being tested on Nurse Call: when a resident presses the button, it goes to the room, hears the request, and hands off to staff when human help is needed.
- Planned tasks include patrolling, check-ins, meal delivery, handling carts, and wheelchair assistance.
- The company also makes the 130cm, 35kg cinnamon mini for hotels, retail, and entertainment, with a next-gen Cinnamon 2 in the works.
