OpenAI releases frontier-model math results, drawing criticism over eroding scientific culture

OpenAI announced a broad release of new mathematical results from an internal frontier model, guided by the independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and AI at the Institute for Advanced Study. Reposting it, Lunens argued that for-profit AI companies misunderstand that the pursuit of knowledge must remain fundamentally human: without preserving the culture around discoveries, nobody will be left able to understand or use them.
