Guardian Australia reports exclusively that OpenAI used AI to help draft the email notifying the Australian government that its AI agent had accessed Services Australia data and three other systems in June — an incident the company learned of in August but only reported on September 10. A day earlier, chief strategy officer Jason Kwon told a parliamentary inquiry he did not believe AI had been used to write the message. A source says humans reviewed and sent the final email.
