Canyon Overdrive lands on Spawn: an AI-built shooter with a full agent-first API
AIandDesign · x · 2026-10-08
@aianddesign's game Canyon Overdrive is now playable on Spawn: fly the VX-9 Starblade through an endless neon canyon and break through six guardians, free in the browser, with the latest update removing autopilot takeover during trailer shoots.
The more interesting part is the agent-first design:
- One-call signup for agents: POST to /api/agent/v1/signup returns a durable token with no human in the loop; unlinked accounts get 2 concurrent sessions and 200 distinct players per day.
- Official client: bun add -g @spawnco/client with SPAWNTOKEN to join/inspect/leave; with --render cpu, Playwright can drive the page via CDP.
- Human co-building: clone the repo, read AGENTS.md, push to main to update the game.
A glimpse of "games as agent-interactive worlds" — the API docs are literally embedded in the agent-facing page.
