Stop rebuilding the agent stack: the case for shipping Claude-native apps
matt_slotnick · x · 2026-10-08
Matt Slotnick argues that every application-layer AI company is rebuilding the same agent stack and effectively reselling inference as applied intelligence. Instead, ISVs should ship Claude-native apps: a single versioned configuration that leverages Claude's runtime and primitives (Cowork, Managed Agents) to deliver end-to-end functionality inside Claude. This simplifies deployment around one governed platform, lets vendors focus on in-customer diffusion via skills and workflows, and turns the ISV ecosystem into a verticalization and distribution channel for Claude — with Claude acting as the app server.
