OpenAI's Codex and ChatGPT Work have reached a combined 40 million weekly active users, confirmed by the team during their 'Day 3' shipathon. As a celebration, banked resets were loaded into everyone's paid accounts.
Extrapolating from prior milestones, petergostev estimates the trajectory points to 70M by end of this year and 100M by end of March 2027 — assuming OpenAI has the compute to sustain it. The same event also brought GPT-6 to Chat.
