repligate · x · 2026-10-08
- Anthropic released Claude Haiku 5.5, its cheapest, fastest small model, aimed at high-volume, cost-sensitive workloads (summaries, compaction, DB queries, classification) and usable as a subagent for coding alongside Opus 5.5 / Sonnet 5.5.
- Pricing: running costs 75% less than Haiku 4.5; Sonnet 5.5 cache reads are halved, making Sonnet 20% cheaper on most agentic work. New monthly API credits for Claude Max and Team subscribers.
- Benchmarks: HLE 45.9% (no tools) → 57.4% (with tools), OSWorld 2.1 at 72.4%, Terminal-Bench 4.0 at 39.2%, FrontierCode 1.1 (Main) at 46.4% — large gains over Haiku 4.5, some results approaching Sonnet 5.5.
