DynaRobotics founders on why robot distribution, not models, is the real race
JasonMa2020 · x · 2026-10-08
Takeaways from an SV Icons session with DynaRobotics co-founder/chief researcher Jason Ma and infra lead Zhipeng Yan. Key points: the robotics gap is distribution — the race is who deploys the most robots doing paid work in the real world, not who has the best demo videos. Own the full stack or get commoditized: pure model or pure hardware companies both depend on someone else's layer; customers care that towels get folded, not whether it's a VLA or world model. The robot's body is also its sensor — renting an arm means renting its data fidelity.
