Margaret Hamilton, computing pioneer who led Apollo flight software, dies at 90

MIT announces the death of Margaret Hamilton at 90. Over two decades at MIT, she led the team that programmed the onboard flight software that took humans to the Moon during the Apollo program, helping found modern software engineering. She received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.
