Responding to a mathematician's warning about AI disrupting math, the author argues this is nothing new: AI hype has hit industry after industry — software for years — and every forecast failed. Math isn't going anywhere, just as developers weren't replaced. Expect 'vibe mathing, proof slop and disposable maths' the way we got vibe coders, code slop and disposable software.
