Databricks exec: AGI is here, but AI hasn't reached enterprise workflows yet
AnneliesGamble · x · 2026-10-08
WhatTheShiv, who leads global GTM at Databricks across manufacturing, automotive, logistics and energy, describes a recurring enterprise frustration: "I see all these amazing things being talked about, but my workflow — has it shown up? No. Why is it being held back?"
He splits the failure modes into two broad categories:
- Technology and data: Where does data live? How is the tech stack managed? Is data treated as an enterprise asset?
- People and workflows: Do teams have the skills they need, and have they redesigned their work to put AI into practice?
His takeaway: "AGI is here, but AI is not really inside of enterprises" — a structural gap between capability breakthroughs and actual enterprise adoption.
