AWS announced Claude Haiku 5.5 on Amazon Bedrock and Claude Platform on AWS. Per Anthropic, it's the fastest, most efficient Claude 5.5-family model, built for subagents and high-volume cost-sensitive work at 75% lower cost than Haiku 4.5.
- First Haiku with effort controls to tune cost vs. intelligence per task.
- Fits coding subagents, knowledge-base Q&A, computer-use browser/desktop subagents, and small multi-file code changes.
- Pairs with Opus 5.5: Opus plans and judges, Haiku runs fast parallel subagent tasks.
- Available via US/EU/AU/JP/Global inference profiles and GovCloud, callable through InvokeModel, Converse API, and the Anthropic SDK.
