Solo dev demos CUT, an AI filmmaking workspace with timeline editing, gap repair and character swap

Developer Ome Omy unveiled a dev preview of CUT, an AI filmmaking workspace that combines scriptwriting, generation, and real timeline editing:
- Timeline workflow: prompts stored alongside generated shots, standard editing tools (razor, trim, snap, copy/paste), MP4 export
- Reference controls: image references for characters/locations with visible ranges, scene references from finished clips, color anchoring and color-matching repair
- Generation management: live previews, cancel in-progress takes, prompt rewrites with alternate seeds, shot extension, gap regions repaired using footage from both sides
- Dialogue & audio: per-shot dialogue cues, Audio Drive performances over existing recordings, voice references for new lines, multi-character scenes, character replacement with or without original soundtrack
It runs locally on ComfyUI with MiniMax H3. The author notes lip sync, continuity, and character replacement still need review, and is recruiting beta testers.
