Anthropic introduced Claude Haiku 5.5, calling it the cheapest, fastest, and most capable small model it has released, with average running costs about 75% lower than Haiku 4.5.
Educator Lydia Hallie shared that Haiku works great for tasks that are mostly reading, small edits, and tool calls without heavy reasoning.
