Anthropic released Claude Haiku 5.5 and sweetened subscriptions:
- Pricing: $0.10/$0.50 per million input/output tokens for requests under 100K tokens — 90% cheaper than Haiku 4.5; long requests run $0.50/$2.50. Average running cost drops 75%, and 90% of Haiku 4.5 requests fit under the 100K threshold.
- Performance: OSWorld 2.1 jumps from 15.7% to 72.4%, Terminal-Bench 4.0 from 0 to 39.2%. It's Anthropic's fastest model (aside from Opus fast mode), with Asana reporting 30%+ lower task latency. Positioned for high-volume tasks and as a coding subagent for Opus/Sonnet 5.5.
- Subscriptions: Claude Max 5x now gets $100/month, Max 20x $200/month, and Team up to $500/month (shared) in API credits usable only on the Claude Platform; Sonnet 5.5 cache reads are halved, making most agentic work 20% cheaper.
