Anthropic launches Claude Haiku 5.5: 75% cheaper than Haiku 4.5, Sonnet cache reads halved

Anthropic released Claude Haiku 5.5, its cheapest, fastest small model yet — running 75% cheaper than Haiku 4.5 on average, with per-token costs 90% lower on tasks under 100K tokens (about 90% of Haiku requests) and half price beyond. It notably improves coding, computer use and knowledge work, can serve as a sub-agent for Opus/Sonnet 5.5, and is the first Haiku with an adjustable effort setting. Available across AWS, Google Cloud and Azure. Anthropic also halved cache read pricing on Sonnet 5.5, cutting most long-running workloads' costs by 20%.
