Developer poteto made her Cursor profile public: 1.5 trillion tokens used in the last 30 days. At an average $8/M rate, that's roughly $384k/day or $132M per year. Even assuming Cursor gets a 90% discount from Anthropic, it still comes to $38k/day or $1.1M per month — enough to hire 26 staff-level engineers at $500k/year. Sentry CEO zeeg weighed in that lab researchers often don't pay for their own tokens, which is why their takes can sound out of touch.
