Artifact Arena ranks LLMs by the robots they engineer in a physics-grounded battle arena

Artifact Arena is an open-ended benchmark that evaluates frontier models by what they build, not what they say: models engineer complete robots — bodies, controllers, strategies — that compete in a physics-simulated Last Bot Standing game, ranked by their best artifact's performance.
Key design points:
- A physics simulator grounds and verifies artifacts and match outcomes
- Non-saturating: each new design competes against the best artifacts built so far
- Measures hardware–software co-design, 3D physical reasoning, 3D design/coding, and competitive strategy
- Three harnesses: sampling, verifier-grounded refinement, and Design Lab
Community artifact submissions are open, with a paper and live leaderboard tracking engineering capability as models approach human level.
