China's DeepSeek and peers shipped 16 AI models in a month

According to Nikkei Asia, Chinese AI companies led by DeepSeek launched 16 new models within a single month, undeterred by Anthropic's warnings. Anthropic CEO Dario Amodei had earlier said he had no idea how to negotiate with China—that it was above his pay grade.
