Hands-on with Standard Bots' BOLT bimanual arms targeting manufacturing teleop data at IROS

At IROS 2026, the author got hands-on with Standard Bots' BOLT, a stationary bimanual setup built from two CORE robot arms, and discussed teleoperation for collecting demonstrations on longer-horizon manipulation tasks.
He likes the business positioning: targeting manufacturing and sitting between traditional automation and humanoids — fixed but AI-enabled arms for tasks that aren't always identical. The booth sat right next to Lightwheel AI; the company's hardware breadth plus Physical AI stack had already stood out at Automate earlier this year.
