DeepMind, Isomorphic, Meta and US government join Biohub's $1.8B effort to model the human cell

Biohub, the Zuckerberg-backed nonprofit, launched a five-year, $1.8B initiative to build open, multi-modal datasets for predictive models of the human cell, with DeepMind, Isomorphic Labs, Meta and the US government on board. Everything Biohub generates will eventually be open, but funders get a head start — Isomorphic's role here is funding in exchange for early data access. Separately, Anthropic has expanded into biology with a wet lab, and OpenAI launched a grant program for biological and medical datasets.
