opencode v2 bug: Bedrock inference profile ARNs get Nova-format reasoning config for Claude models
gillespied · ghdev · 2026-10-07
- A bug in opencode v2 (2.0.24): when a Bedrock model's API id is an application inference profile ARN, effort variants are generated in Amazon Nova format even when the profile backs a Claude model, causing Bedrock to return a 400 for reasoningConfig.
- Root cause: ARNs contain no model name, so code in variant.ts that checks modelID(model).includes("anthropic") fails, swapping Claude's thinking + outputconfig shape for Nova's reasoningConfig; version parsing also yields NaN, misclassifying the model as adaptive-thinking.
- Workaround: declare variants manually to skip auto-generation. The reporter suggests keying off model.family instead of parsing the id; v1 was closed won't-fix, so this was filed against v2.
