Why heavy-industry humanoids are rare: the 40 vs 50 lb payload gap matters
chris_j_paxton · x · 2026-10-07
Chris Paxton notes very few heavy-industry humanoids exist: Figure and Optimus can't yet handle 50 lb payloads humans do daily. The 40→50 lb gap is bigger than it sounds—harder control, heavier robot, and 50 lb is the standard OSHA limit. He's also skeptical of AgiBot's robot, which seems to be all "coming soon."
