As OpenAI floods math with solutions, professors' "prestigious paid hobby" is ending

eigenrobot (well-known blogger, previously invited by OpenAI) sparked debate: many math professors implicitly treat the profession as providing themselves a prestigious paid hobby rather than increasing humanity's mathematical knowledge. His take: "yes we're all going to lose our jobs and it sucks... and also, this is the most exciting time in the history of math."
The quoted tweet questions OpenAI's motive for releasing solutions to hundreds of math problems at once — after the Navier-Stokes counterexample already proved the internal model's value, this "(hostile?) takeover of the mathematical landscape" looks like a massive PR stunt.
