UMich researchers open-source Claude Code operating principles with three-layer skills system
GhaffariMaani · x · 2026-10-07
A developer has open-sourced claude-operating-principles, a portable repo you can hand to your Claude Code agent to install. It's structured in three layers: ten commandments ordered along the workflow (understand, plan the test, measure, compare fairly, confirm, fix, act, report, learn); ten daily defaults auto-applied each session following Occam's razor; and on-demand skills that carry each commandment's full rules plus the incidents that produced them. Key tenets: truth is what actually ran, recorded in one place; write down predictions and disproof conditions before measuring; grade with the consumer's ruler.
