Solo game dev says GPT generated 1,200+ art assets for his airship game, 100x faster
MosskeepForest · reddit · 2026-10-07
A game dev/artist with over a decade of experience shared that all art for his FTL-inspired airship strategy game, Magehold Fairwinds, was generated by GPT: 1,200+ assets covering ship rooms, icons, achievements, backgrounds, ship types, and enemies.
He estimates hand-making the art alone would have taken years of daily work, calling GPT "100x faster and better." The game features cargo missions, bounties, dungeons, hireable mages, optional auto-battle, and endless modes, and launches on Steam within weeks.
