OpenAI releases new mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model

OpenAI announced the release of a broad set of new mathematical results produced by an internal frontier model. The company says it consulted the independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and Artificial Intelligence at the Institute for Advanced Study, and used the group's advice and public recommendations to shape how the results are released.
Quoting the announcement, Dr. Atoosa frames it as a breakthrough co-authored by "OpenAI, the secret models, and all the humans who generated the knowledge from which the models learned," asking what should be done with such results.
