Crusoe's Path: From Stranded-Gas Bitcoin Mining to Prefab Gigawatt-Scale GPU Datacenters
AccBalanced · x · 2026-10-07
Crusoe began by powering bitcoin miners with stranded gas, deployed 425+ modular datacenters, sold the mining business, built Crusoe Cloud, and is now developing gigawatt-scale AI campuses. Its new Crusoe Spark ships prefabricated GPU datacenters wherever power is available. Unlike most neoclouds that started with GPUs, Crusoe started with power and modular construction and worked inward — the bitcoin-to-AI pivot changed the workload but kept the instinct: find the power, then bring compute to it.
