3DGS tracking upgraded: 120fps global-shutter camera doubles pose updates
Scobleizer · x · 2026-10-07
A developer showed improvements to real-time tracking in Gaussian Splatting scenes: switching to a 120 fps global-shutter camera doubles the position update rate and greatly reduces gaps when tracking fast movements, feeling much better overall.
The window still renders from a pose roughly 20–24 ms in the past, which he compensates by predicting the position slightly forward. Tracking works best when following a phone for now.
