Generalist's GEN-1.5 robot model installs and removes O-rings autonomously, learns from seconds of demos

Generalist showed its GEN-1.5 generalist robot foundation model autonomously and repeatedly installing and removing an O-ring from a hydraulic rod gland—a fine-motor industrial task. The same foundation model can pick up new physical tasks from just seconds of human demonstration; a video of the demo is available. This single-general-model, few-shot-teaching approach is one of the core bets in the current robot foundation model race.
