General Intuition raises $220M at $6.2B, turning 20B yearly game clips into robot training data

A year after rejecting OpenAI's $500M acquisition offer for game-clip platform Medal, founder Pim de Witte's new company General Intuition raised $220M at a $6.2B valuation (Valor Equity Partners, Point72, SevenSevenSix; Khosla Ventures and General Catalyst reinvesting).

The thesis: Medal's 10M+ MAU generate 2B game clips yearly. Synced with keyboard/mouse/controller inputs, these capture how humans observe, judge and act in 3D worlds—exactly what robot training lacks. The data underpins the MIRA world model.

Early results: agents run 100+ hours continuously in games; a quadruped with one front camera navigated unseen indoor environments after fine-tuning on just 8 minutes of real motion data.

Context: distinct from NVIDIA Isaac Sim (simulation), DeepMind Genie, and World Labs Marble. Chinese players split into data infra (Lightwheel), world models (Riemann Dynamics' Riemann-1.0), and industrial applications (NetEase Fuxi). The open question: how much of this virtual behavior data transfers to real-world robotics.
