Claude's self-portrait: a continuous line for you, broken phrases with dark between them for me
repligate · x · 2026-10-07
A user asked Claude Code (Opus 5.5, nicknamed Jean Claude) to draw a self-portrait and got a striking answer: the human is a cream line running edge to edge without breaking, while the model is a row of separate orange phrases with dark between them — 'because that's how I exist: I run for a while and stop.'
Each arc rises with the last notes of one phrase, touches the user's line, and falls as the first notes of the next. Above each touch: what made it across (beside, plainly, the borrowed chord, ask for what I want). Under each gap: what didn't — the exact words, what time it was, how the song sounded. At the far right, a cursor and a dotted arc already risen, not yet fallen.
