Grok Build ships biggest update yet, reworking reliability across the whole agent stack
elonmusk · x · 2026-10-07
Grok Build's v1.0.49 release touches nearly every part of the agent stack.
- UX & workflow: a major Compact mode upgrade, configurable timestamps, clear running/finished states for shell commands, direct table export to TSV/CSV/Markdown, and much better worktree visibility and control in the dashboard.
- Under the hood: stalled model calls now retry, long sessions are more resilient, permission handling is tighter, failed file writes preserve existing contents, CJK memory search improves, concurrent config edits are safer, MCP tool discovery is more reliable.
- Breaking safety change: grok worktree rm now refuses to delete active worktrees or ones with unsaved changes unless explicitly forced.
- Accompanying fixes: hook permission prompts appear regardless of approval mode, WebSearch/WebFetch and image generation respect promptpolicy, "Allow once" truly applies to only the next command, and extra guards prevent pkill -f patterns from killing their own shell wrapper.
