Build AI Personas from Capability Bundles, Not Roleplay Titles
ThomasBuildLab · reddit · 2026-10-07
The author argues that personas like "You are a McKinsey consultant" mostly just change tone. A useful persona should be built from capabilities: detect contradictions, identify missing information, estimate impact, challenge assumptions, generate alternatives, run red-team checks, and define the cheapest next test.
The workflow: problem → required competencies → specialized personas → contradiction/red-team → synthesis → human decision. The key idea: the real power of LLMs is assembling the competencies a problem requires, on demand — closer to organizational design for intelligence than simple prompting.
