Replying to tmikov's pessimistic take that the only logical solution is to outlaw AI globally — with the best long-term case being humans as AI "pets" on max UBI — johnohallman argues the Dune-style "Butlerian Jihad" is one reason his P(doom) is low: past a sufficiently high P(doom|ASI), every country will make banning and preventing ASI development its top priority.
