ArtCraft rebuilds Adobe's entire creative suite as 7 free open-source Rust apps with MCP built in
DevDminGod · x · 2026-10-07
The ArtCraft team launched Crafting Apps: seven free, open-source creative apps rewritten from scratch in pure Rust, directly targeting Adobe's lineup — PhotoCraft (image editing, early alpha), VectorCraft, FilmCraft, LightCraft, PrintCraft, EffectCraft, and DesignCraft, available for macOS/Windows/Linux/Web.
All apps are open source, built from the ground up, and agent-ready with MCP support from day one. Most are still in development, with the team taking suggestions via Discord for what to rebuild next. The poster's take: "Adobe is actually cooked with this."
