OpenAI releases new math results from an internal frontier model, some already solved by outside agents

OpenAI announced a broad set of new mathematical results produced by an undisclosed internal frontier model, saying it consulted an independent Advisory Group on Mathematics and AI at the Institute for Advanced Study to shape the release. Researcher @Sauers pushed back, noting that their agents (Opus 5.5, Astra, and 5.6 Sol) had already solved some of these problems on GitHub beforehand, raising the question of how many actually required OpenAI's internal model.
