A developer claims he used Claude Opus 5.5 to recreate seven core Adobe apps — Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere, Lightroom, Acrobat Pro, After Effects and InDesign — all written in Rust, open-source and free, ending subscription dependence.
The projects are early versions: PhotoCraft reportedly covers about 90% of daily professional Photoshop work but is not yet a full replacement.
